The core systems on the Peregrine IS — PBT carton forming, JLS TRAK and PCT carton handling, JLS-engineered VOB tooling, vision-guided robotics, and a single control platform — are designed, built, and programmed in-house at our York, PA facility. Backed by multiple patents, these are the innovations behind one of the smallest-footprint robotic cartoners in the food industry.
Designed to get wet — IP69K washdown
Open-frame design, sloped surfaces, and NEMA 4X controls, washdown construction options — with IP69K-rated components — for high-pressure, high-temperature washdown where required. Built for the food zone from day one — VOB tooling makes sanitation a tool swap, not a cleaning event.
Vision-guided delta robotics
Vision identifies the exact position and orientation of each incoming pack — naked or packaged — so high-payload washdown-capable delta robots pick and load it into the carton with no fixed tooling or guides. Handles flow packs, thermoformed pouches, flexible bags, and loose product without changeover.
VOB vacuum tooling
JLS Vacuum-On-Board tooling puts the vacuum generator on the robot arm — eliminating problematic hosing and clogged airlines, and cutting compressed-air use by more than 50% versus conventional vacuum systems. Sanitation is a simple end-of-arm tool swap. Every tool is configured and lab-tested for your product.
On-the-fly changeover
Switch SKUs without stopping — JLS TRAK changes pitch between carriers so different counts run back-to-back. Carton changeover uses a quick-change blank station and HMI recipe; tool changes for the robots take minutes. No mechanical re-tooling, no hours-long line stop.
JLS TRAK + PCT carton control
JLS TRAK moves cartons at high speed with extremely accurate positioning, and PCT (Positive Carton Transport) keeps full control of the carton through loading — it never lets go. That eliminates the transfer-point drop that is the #1 source of downtime on traditional cartoning lines. Add robots to scale throughput.
Single control platform & in-house software
One B&R controller runs the JLS TRAK track and the robots from a single HMI — no separate conveyor control system to integrate. Software is written and owned entirely by JLS, so new recipes and remote support come directly from the team that built your system.
